Usually with this type of dog, the other dog is in visual range but not in close proximity (usually across the street). It is one of several techniques used with leash aggression and it is a good foundation.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It sounds like your dog has food aggression/resource guarding issues but that does not necessarily mean you throw the baby out with the bathwater and dispense with food treats altogether. I know my dog gets a little uptight when there is food/treats around and another dog(s). It is at times a source of snapping.
